This education and training workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of HIV, living with HIV and HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
Who is the training for?
This education will be beneficial to people working across a range of sectors and professions who want to learn more about the impact of an HIV diagnoses, the law and HIV-related discrimination, where to seek support and how to challenge HIV-related stigma.
Content:
- Overview of HIV: transmission, prevention, testing and treatment.
- Living with HIV: impact of an HIV diagnosis, the impact of HIV-related stigma.
- Research: findings from the People Living with HIV Stigma Survey 2017.
- HIV and the Law: discrimination, transmission, and disclosure.
- HIV Ireland experiences and case studies of HIV-related discrimination.
- Challenging HIV-related stigma.
- Services and Resources.
Length of Training:
This is a half-day education and training programme, approx. 4 hours in duration.

Booking Fee:
Booking fees have unfortunately become necessary due to high levels of non-attendance on our ‘free’ training programmes, and ever-increasing waiting lists. The booking fee will be reimbursed to the credit/debit card used for payment.on the day of the training to all those who attend. Those who fail to attend will forfeit the fee. Reimbursement will also be made to those who cancel up to 7 days prior to the training.

CPD Credits: A certificate of attendance detailing the number of hours training completed is provided to each participant. This will enable you to apply for your own CPD credits with your accrediting associations and organisations.
